Autumn Walk

My plan is to portray an image of something seen on an Autumn walk through the woods. I'm looking to create a scene entirely from vegetation and natural features. I'll be using the project to learn some advanced scattering and texturing techniques to carry forward into future visuals.

Clay rendering complete. Happy with the lighting and balance of composition. Onto materials and tweaking elements.

Modelling complete. Rocks made with the rock generator script then edited and composed. Ground achieved with simple plane then edit poly to create a "cave" and noise modifier for some variety. Next step will be scattering trees, ground cover and masking areas to complete composition.

These are concept images of what I'm trying to achieve. I'll be using rocks to form a focal point for the image, covered in moss, with dense vegetation moving into the distance. A mix of woodland coniferous and deciduous trees at varying points of fall will add colour and variety to the visual. I want a slightly mysterious but peaceful mood, keeping it fairly naturalistic so the piece doesn't go too fantastical.
