Rhus typhina, the staghorn sumac, is a species of flowering plant in the family Anacardiaceae, native to eastern North America. It is a dioecious, deciduous shrub or small tree growing up to 5 m (16 ft) tall by 6 m (20 ft) broad. It has alternate, pinnately compound leaves. Leaf petioles and stems are densely covered in rust-colored hairs. This tree is also noted for its ornamental fruiting clusters and excellent fall foliage color.
